ESS - Monitoring Progress
A common question parents have is about how they will know what progress their child is making in their therapy and services. Each time an ESS provider works with your child, they are assessing your child’s abilities and providing services and supports to help your child continue to grow. The provider will write notes to show the progress your child has made. As your family changes and your child is capable of doing new things, you may also want to change the outcomes that you are working toward.
There is a formal review of the IFSP every six months where the IFSP team will have an opportunity to discuss the IFSP and make any changes that are necessary to facilitate the achievement of developmental milestones and goals. At any time, you or any other member of the IFSP team can request an IFSP meeting/review. The IFSP team can review the current IFSP; discuss any changes, and how the changes affect your child and family’s goals. Updated goals and plans will be added to the IFSP for you to review and sign.
